In Their Own Words

These are accounts from clients who came to us with pension concerns. Names used with permission; locations given by district.

WP

Wanchai Phetsiri

Bangna, Bangkok — May 2025

"I came to Mali Advocates because I did not understand why my Social Security benefit had been calculated the way it was. The review they provided was the first time anyone had explained the position to me in language I could actually follow. I left with a written document that I have referred back to several times. Very thorough."

SK

Supattra Kaewchan

Chiang Mai — April 2025

"My appeal against a provident fund decision had already been ongoing for some time before I contacted Kritchai. He stepped in, restructured the submission, and the revised appeal was handled professionally throughout. It took longer than I had hoped — though I understand the fund process is not quick — but I always knew what was happening and why."

AT

Anuwat Thongchai

Nonthaburi — May 2025

"The Complete Pension Protection service is what I needed and I am glad I took that route. Supatra handled everything — documents, correspondence, the committee discussion — and kept me informed at each step. I did not need to chase for updates. The matter was resolved in about four months and the outcome was reasonable given what we were working with."

PM

Pranom Maneewong

Sukhumvit, Bangkok — April 2025

"I am not someone who finds legal matters straightforward, and I was a little nervous about the appointment. Nattaya and the team were patient with my questions and never made me feel that I was taking too much of their time. The written summary was clear enough for me to share with my daughter, which helped us decide together what to do next."

SR

Somchai Raktham

Pathum Thani — March 2025

"My situation involved both a government pension and a private fund, so there were two organisations to deal with. Mali Advocates handled the coordination between them, which made a real difference — I had not managed to get a consistent answer trying to do it myself. The final outcome was fair and I now have a clear picture of my retirement position."

KL

Kanya Limtrakool

Samut Prakan — May 2025

"I needed to understand my late husband's pension entitlements for the estate process. The team handled the matter carefully, given the circumstances, and produced a clear written summary that the estate lawyer could work from. Professional throughout."

How Matters Have Developed

Three examples of real engagement types, anonymised and summarised. These are representative of the work we undertake rather than specific clients.

Retirement Nearing: Understanding Entitlements Before a Decision

The Situation

A client within two years of planned retirement had never fully understood how their Social Security contributions translated to pension entitlement, and was uncertain whether to accept an early retirement offer from their employer.

Our Work

We reviewed eight years of contribution records, the Social Security entitlement calculation, and the terms of the employer's offer. A written position paper set out what the client would receive at each retirement age, with notes on the employer offer's implications.

The Outcome

The client made a retirement decision based on accurate information rather than assumptions. They chose to defer retirement by eighteen months, which increased their entitlement materially. The engagement took two weeks from first contact to written summary.

"I had been putting this off for years because I found it confusing. Having it set out clearly changed how I approached the whole decision."

Provident Fund Dispute: Incorrect Calculation on Resignation

The Situation

Following resignation, a client received a provident fund payout they believed was significantly lower than their entitlement. The fund's calculation excluded a period of service that the client maintained should have been included.

Our Work

We reviewed the fund rules, employment records, and the fund's calculation. An appeal submission was drafted, addressing the specific exclusion of service. We corresponded with the fund committee and attended one committee review on the client's behalf.

The Outcome

The fund revised its calculation to include the disputed service period. The additional payout represented approximately 14% of the original amount. The process from our instruction to payment took three and a half months.

"I had been told informally that nothing could be done. Having the submission prepared properly and presented by an advocate changed the outcome entirely."

Multi-Fund Estate Matter: Pension Rights After Bereavement

The Situation

A family approached us following the death of a parent, needing to establish what pension benefits were available. The deceased had contributed to both the Social Security system and a private provident fund over different periods of their working life.

Our Work

We identified the relevant funds, obtained contribution records, and submitted claims to both the Social Security Office and the provident fund trustee. We coordinated correspondence between the two bodies, prepared the family's documentation, and provided formal representation where required.

The Outcome

Both claims were resolved, with payments from each source confirmed within five months of instruction. The family received the full entitlement from both funds, and the written record we produced was incorporated into the estate documentation.

"This was a difficult time for our family and dealing with two organisations in parallel felt overwhelming. Mali Advocates took that burden from us and handled it steadily."
